Guitars and Cars is set to return to downtown Napanee this weekend, with organizers expecting a larger turnout than last year.
Tiffany Lloyd says about 50 volunteers will help run the event. About 450 cars attended last year, while pre-registration numbers have already doubled for this year’s event.
The event will include classic cars, trucks and motorcycles along Dundas Street from East Street to Donalds Street. Several additional blocks will be closed to accommodate the displays.
Visitors can also take part in a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m., two fundraising barbecues and special 50/50 draws supporting the hospital foundation.
Local businesses are also preparing for the crowds, with some opening specifically for the event. Additional food vendors will be available at the market.
Spectator hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Limited vehicle registration is available day of, with vehicles entering from the south end of John Street at the Napanee Legion.
