The Greater Napanee Terry Fox Run was held Sunday, bringing runners and community members together to support cancer research.
Teams and individual participants took part in the annual event, with Mayor Terry Richardson and MPP Ric Bresee attending before the race to offer well wishes.
The Napanee event had raised more than $9,000 as of Sunday night. Online donations will remain open until the end of October.
Organizer Rebecca Wilkinson also thanked the volunteers, participants, donors and local supporters who helped make the event possible. Contributions included prizes, refreshments, T-shirts and new signage.
A new Terry Fox stand-up sign was also added to the event, with support from the Kinsmen Club of Napanee.
The Terry Fox Run is held annually across Canada to raise money for cancer research and continue Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.
