Two people are facing impaired driving charges after Northumberland OPP investigated a vehicle that reportedly could not maintain its lane in Brighton.
Police say the incident happened around 10:45 p.m. Sept. 10 on Elizabeth Street. Another caller reported the vehicle had collided with a commercial building, causing damage.
Officers spoke with the driver and began an impaired driving investigation, resulting in an arrest. Police say further investigation found the passenger had also driven the vehicle shortly before, leading to a second investigation.
Hannah Cooper, 24, of Belleville, faces three charges, including impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 and obstructing a peace officer.
Sarah Davis, 21, of Greater Napanee, faces two charges, including impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Both are scheduled to appear in Cobourg in October.
