The Napanee Raiders are keeping their winning ways going during their second weekend of the season.
Friday night, the Raiders hosted the Frankford Huskies for the first matchup this season. It was scoreless in the first period, taking us to the second, where Frankford opened the scoring. Tanner Hawkins then scored for the Raiders to tie the game. Mason Goodfellow would then score the Raiders second of the night for a 2-1 lead to end the period. Brody Nielissen secured the Raiders lead nearing the half way point of the third period for a 3-1 lead. Then with 22 second left, Hawkins scored his second of the night on the Empty Net to secure the Raiders 4-1 win!
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 35 saves on 36 shots on goal.
The Napanee Raiders are at the top of the East Tod Division standings with a 2-0 record and 4 points.
The Raiders return to action Saturday, Sept. 19th when they’ll play their first road game against Port Hope. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
