Lennox and Addington County General Hospital is receiving more than $3 million from the Ontario government for infrastructure upgrades.
The province announced today that $3,064,270 will go toward improvements at the Greater Napanee hospital, including HVAC, nurse call, elevator and medical gas upgrades.
The funding is part of more than $266 million being provided through Ontario’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund for repairs and upgrades at 126 hospitals across the province.
Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee said the investment will help keep the aging hospital safe and reliable.
LACGH president and CEO Mike Bell said the hospital has been built in three phases, making ongoing infrastructure work important to keeping the facility operating properly.
Bresee said the investment is part of Ontario’s larger health infrastructure plan, which includes about $64 billion over the next decade.
LACGH operates 186 beds and has about 577 employees and 165 medical professionals.
