Rehabilitation work on County Road 49 will continue this week, with drivers facing single-lane closures near construction areas.
Prince Edward County says Tomlinson is continuing to replace culverts and excavate and waterproof existing concrete box culverts to extend their service life.
Single-lane closures will be in place near the work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Temporary traffic signals will be used to help maintain traffic flow and reduce delays.
A temporary 60 km/h speed limit remains in effect throughout the construction zone. Drivers are being reminded to follow posted signs and slow down near road cuts.
The municipality is also monitoring areas where concrete has been removed for cross-culvert replacements. Bump-ahead signs have been installed near those areas.
The County is working with the contractor to finalize a new start date for rubblization, a process that breaks the existing concrete into small pieces to create a foundation for new asphalt.
