The Greater Napanee Fire Department is inviting residents to bring their vehicles to its annual fundraising car wash.
The event will take place this Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Station No. 1 at 66 Advance Ave. The car wash is by donation.
Richard Punchard of the Greater Napanee Fire Department said the money raised will help the department prepare for its growing Christmas program.
Punchard said the program has grown significantly, from providing gifts to about 20 children in its first year to more than 100 today. The department also provides food hampers to at least 40 families.
Along with getting their vehicles cleaned, visitors can learn about fire safety at a public education table, pick up giveaways for children and tour the fire trucks.
The car wash began around 2012 and was organized by former fire captain Pete Hayes.
