Lennox and Addington County is welcoming geocachers from around the world this week for its 11th official MEGA geocaching event.
The event begin’s with activities Wednesday and will build toward the main MEGA event Saturday.
Organizers have also planned meet-and-greets, a history event in Amherstview, a guided tour at the Dark Sky viewing area, a paddle on the Salmon River in Roblin and a Friday night kickoff party.
Rob Plumley shared with myFM the event is expected to attract geocachers from across Canada, the United States and overseas. Plumley said past visitors have travelled from Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
He said newcomers are also welcome to learn about geocaching and try the activity for themselves.
The event also provides an economic boost to communities throughout Lennox and Addington as visitors eat at local restaurants, shop and explore the area.
