A local musician is inviting the community to enjoy an evening of live music while supporting the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre this weekend in Deseronto.
Steve Tanner will perform Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grandma’s Sweet Memories on Main Street as part of the shop’s Music for a Cause series.
Tanner said visitors can expect a relaxed evening of blues, folk and roots music in what has become a popular community gathering place. His set list will include a mix of original songs and covers, with selections changing throughout the night.
Donations collected during the event will benefit Sandy Pines.
Tanner has supported the wildlife rehabilitation organization for several years through fundraising performances and busking. He said friends first introduced him to the organization, and he has continued to raise money because he believes in its work.
Grandma’s Sweet Memories is also contributing the first $100 placed in the event’s donation jar, with musicians volunteering their performances to support local charities.
