The RCMP Musical Ride will make its first-ever stop in Napanee on Thursday, July 16, giving residents a chance to see one of Canada’s most recognized traditions.
The performance will take place at the Napanee Fairgrounds, with gates opening at 4 p.m. Live music by Trilogy begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Musical Ride from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Admission is by donation.
For anyone unable to attend in person, 88.7 myFM will be live streaming the performance on our Facebook page.
Annie Manion said the idea began after she watched the Musical Ride at the Royal Winter Fair.
The show features 20 horses ridden by RCMP officers performing choreographed routines set to music.
Before the evening show, a small group of officers and horses will visit the local hospital and the John M. Parrott Centre so residents who cannot attend can still experience the event.
Food vendors, including the Napanee Legion, Hog Food Company and Kona Ice, will also be on site throughout the event.
