Ontario has announced a major investment in Ontario Truss & Wall to expand wood manufacturing in Belleville and support construction demand.
The funding is delivered through the Forest Sector Investment and Innovation Program and will support 13 new jobs. It will also retain 50 existing positions and support about 100 additional jobs across the region.
Kevin Holland, Associate Minister of Forestry and Forest Products, made the announcement Monday.
The province says forest sector growth supports jobs, housing construction and sustainable use of Crown forests while boosting Ontario competitiveness in global markets and long term future investment.
Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee was in attendence, crongratulating the team on being an integral part of the local housebuilding sector, and in turn an important part of the larger forestry industry.
Ontario Truss & Wall was established in 1982 in Foxboro and produces wood products for residential, commercial and agricultural construction.
