The Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Ontario Health Team says it has cleared the pre–Jan. 1, 2025 Health Care Connect waitlist, connecting thousands of residents to primary care providers.
Provincial data showed 11,240 people were on the regional list at the start of 2025. Of those, 6,330 were attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner, while about 4,910 were removed after Health Care Connect confirmed they no longer needed a provider.
The FLA OHT says the result was achieved through coordinated work with clinics, family health teams and Health Care Connect. The Spruce Health Hub in Kingston also supported the effort by helping doctors take on more patients and offering temporary care to people still waiting.
About 400 residents have already used the hub for interim support.
Local partners say the milestone reflects strong collaboration across the region. Despite the progress, officials say work continues to connect all residents to primary care, and people without a provider are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect.
