Jim Hegadorn has been acclaimed as warden of the County of Lennox and Addington for the remainder of the 2026 term after receiving the support of county council.
A new warden was needed after the departure of former warden Nathan Townend earlier this month.
Councillor Tony Fritsch nominated Hegadorn, saying the deputy warden was the natural choice to move into the role.
A second nomination for Councillor Terry Richardson was put forward but did not proceed after it failed to receive a seconder. With no further nominations, Hegedorn was acclaimed and officially took the oath of office before receiving the chain of office.
Addressing council, Hegadorn thanked members for their confidence.
Council then selected a new deputy warden. Councillor Fritch was acclaimed after other nominations failed to receive seconders.
