The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) Foundation says its June 50/50 raffle is on track for another strong month as fundraising continues for critical hospital equipment.
Amanda Chalk said May’s raffle was their second biggest ever, and June is expected to surpass that total and could match last June’s jackpot of more than $18,000.
Tickets for the 50/50 are available online, or by visiting the foundation office. Deadline to buy tickets is end of day Monday, June 29th.
Money raised through this year’s monthly raffle will support equipment upgrades in the hospital’s operating room. The foundation hopes to raise about $300,000 for new endoscopes, colonoscopes and other essential equipment needed for patient care.
The operating room is one of three major fundraising priorities this year, along with diagnostic imaging and the hospital laboratory. The foundation’s current top priority is raising money for a new laboratory analyzer.
The foundation is also celebrating the success of its first Napanee Heritage Race after taking over the event this year. About 400 participants took part in the kids’ one-mile and 5K walk/run, raising roughly $30,000 for diagnostic imaging. Final fundraising totals are still being calculated.
The foundation’s next major fundraiser is its annual golf tournament on July 29 at the Napanee Golf and Country Club. Morning tee times remain available, while the afternoon event is sold out. An online auction begins July 22, with the foundation still seeking donated experiences, staycations, concert tickets and other auction items.
