Greater Napanee town council is deferring a decision on a proposed feasibility study for a new recreation facility, saying the issue should be left to the next term of council.
Chris Brown, the town’s director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, presented a report Tuesday night following a February deputation from local residents Tammy Giles, Connie McGarvery and Bill Casselman, who proposed fundraising for the project.
Staff recommended the feasibility study be considered during 2027 budget talks. Brown said such studies typically cost between $50,000 and $150,000.
The report noted up to 50 per cent could be covered through development charges, with the remainder likely funded through the tax levy if approved.
