The Stone Mills Fire Department has changed the local forest fire hazard rating to Moderate following recent weather conditions. The Township of Addington Highlands is also at a Moderate level.
Residents are reminded that outdoor burning is still permitted, but caution remains essential.
Fire officials are urging anyone planning to burn to closely monitor their fire and follow all municipal bylaws regulating open-air burning.
