The Napanee Raiders have added a major local talent to their lineup, acquiring winger Luc Amat from the Picton Pirates ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 Provincial Junior Hockey League season.
The 20-year-old Roblin native is set to play his overage season in Napanee after posting a strong year with 21 goals and 29 assists. He was named to the Tod Division all-star team and added 15 points in 10 playoff games.
Amat began his minor hockey career in Stone Mills before developing further with the Napanee Stars and reaching the OMHA U18 championships in 2023.
He said returning home for his final junior season means a lot. “Coming home to Napanee for my final year means a lot,” he said. “It’s a chance to play in front of family, friends and a community that helped me develop both as a player and as a person. I’m excited to represent my hometown and make the most of my last junior season.”
Head coach Ben Hagerman said Amat brings strong two-way play, penalty killing ability and relentless effort on both ends of the ice, calling him a key addition for the Raiders this season.
