Residents looking for affordable family outings can now access a growing list of free attraction passes through their local library.
myFM spoke with Kate Wilson, Programming & Outreach Coordinator with the L&A Libraries, who said the community pass program allows library cardholders to borrow passes for popular destinations and attractions for up to one week at a time.
The passes can be placed on hold and checked out using a library card.
Wilson said the initiative helps make attractions more accessible as families face rising costs.
Library cards are free and available to residents who provide identification and proof of address. Wilson encouraged families to sign up, noting that each household member can have their own card.
Beyond books, cardholders can access digital services such as Hoopla and Libby, which offer e-books, audiobooks, movies, television shows and magazines.
The library also lends a variety of non-traditional items through its “More Than Books” collection, including board games, yard games and sewing machines.
Wilson added that the library continues to offer free programs, resources and a welcoming air-conditioned space for residents throughout the summer months.
