Canadian Blood Services is encouraging residents to roll up their sleeves when its mobile blood donation clinic next visits the Best and Bash Arena on July 3.
The clinic will run from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., giving eligible donors an opportunity to help replenish blood supplies and support patients in need.
Canadian Blood Services says O-negative blood is especially important because it can be transfused to patients of any blood type. Hospitals often rely on O-negative blood in emergency situations when there is no time to determine a patient’s blood type.
Residents can review donor eligibility requirements and book an appointment online or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE.
The organization continues to encourage new and returning donors to help meet ongoing demand for blood products across Canada.
