Prince Edward County OPP says officers will increase enforcement during the annual “Skip Weekend” at Sandbanks Provincial Park from May 28 to May 31.
Police say the event traditionally attracts large groups of high school students, and officers will maintain a strong presence throughout the weekend to help ensure public safety.
The OPP says enforcement will focus on underage drinking, open liquor violations, public intoxication, impaired driving and violations involving G1 and G2 drivers, including the zero alcohol rule for G2 licence holders.
Police warn that charges, roadside suspensions and vehicle impoundments could result from offences.
The OPP is also reminding visitors to make responsible choices by planning sober rides, watching out for friends and staying safe near the water.
Officers will work alongside park staff and emergency services during the busy weekend at Sandbanks Provincial Park.
