Walk for Alzheimer's 2025 - Photo provided
The Alzheimer Society KFLA is hoping for another strong community turnout as the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s returns to Napanee this Saturday.
The fundraiser will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 30 in partnership with the John M Parrott Centre.
myFM spoke with Education and Support Coordinator, Lorraine Ross, who said the event continues to grow each year.
The walk will feature appearances from local leaders including MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman, MPP Ric Bresee and Greater Napanee Mayor Terry Richardson. Members of the Napanee Raiders hockey team will also be in attendance.
Ross said the fundraiser is important because the Alzheimer Society receives only part of its funding through the Ministry of Health.
The organization is aiming to raise $10,000 in Napanee, and they’re already halfway to that goal.
She also highlighted the growing number of dementia cases across the province.
Residents can still register online or sign up on the day of the event.
