Community Living Lennox and Addington is marking Community Living Month this May with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and celebrating inclusion.
Executive Director Barb Fabius says the organization is using the month to highlight the people it supports and the staff who make the work possible.
As part of the celebration, building is being lit up in blue and green, the organization’s colours, while staff and participants are also dressing in those shades. Special treats, including themed cookies, are also part of the festivities.
The organization provides a range of supports for adults over 18 across Lennox and Addington County, including day programs, supported living, and family home arrangements.
At The Hub in downtown Napanee, participants are creating seasonal woodworking items and selling fudge to the public.
Community Living Month is celebrated by about 125 organizations across Ontario each year.
