A search is underway for a new chair to lead the Quinte Source Water Protection committee.
The role focuses on guiding efforts to protect sources of municipal drinking water across the Quinte region. The committee includes representatives from municipalities, agriculture, First Nations, businesses and the public.
The chair will oversee meetings, support updates to the source protection plan and work with local partners to ensure policies are carried out. The position also involves working with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and promoting awareness through community outreach.
The committee has already developed key documents, including its assessment reports and protection plan, under the Clean Water Act, 2006.
Applicants must live, work or own property within the Quinte Conservation Source Protection Area. Officials say the chair will play a key role in keeping drinking water safe. Applications are open now online.
