Loyalist Township Mayor, Jim Hegadorn
Residents in Loyalist Township are being invited to take part in a series of Earth Week events aimed at promoting sustainability and community involvement.
The township is hosting three initiatives between April 18 and 25, offering opportunities to recycle, clean up public spaces, and give away reusable items.
The week begins with a recycling drive on Saturday, April 18 at the Amherstview Fire Station. Residents can drop off electronic waste, batteries, textiles, and non-perishable food items for proper disposal or donation.
A community-wide cleanup will run from April 19 to 25, encouraging residents to remove litter from parks, roadsides, and other public areas. Participation is flexible and open to all ages.
The events wrap up with Curbside Giveaway Day on April 25, where residents can place gently used items at the curb for others to take, helping reduce landfill waste.
Township officials say the events are designed to build community pride while supporting a cleaner, greener environment.
