Families are invited to cast a line and enjoy a day outdoors as Loyalist Township hosts its annual Family Fishing Day on Amherst Island.
The free event takes place May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stella Bay Park and Dock, with activities running throughout the day.
Organizers say the event will feature fishing, games, crafts, live music and a barbecue, along with educational displays on water safety, conservation and local habitats.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, though equipment will be available on-site through the Napanee and District Rod and Gun Club.
New this year, Fishing Friendzy will offer interactive learning experiences for young anglers.
Visitors can reach the island using the Amherst Island ferry.
The event is free, but pre-registration is required.
