Quinte Conservation has extended a flood watch across the region as rainfall and melting snow continue to push water levels higher.
Officials say rivers, creeks and lakes could remain elevated for up to two weeks following a second surge of the spring freshet caused by recent warm temperatures and rain.
More rainfall is possible over the next week, along with continued warm weather, which could speed up snowmelt in northern areas.
Watersheds across the region are already swollen, with nuisance flooding reported in low-lying areas, ditches and urban zones.
In Prince Edward County, small watercourses are near capacity and may overflow into nearby land. Conditions are also being closely monitored in the Salmon, Napanee and Moira River watersheds, where water levels remain high.
Residents in flood-prone areas are being urged to take precautions, including checking sump pumps and clearing drainage systems.
The flood watch remains in effect until April 24.
