The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say two people have been charged with impaired driving following separate incidents in Lennox and Addington County over two days.
On March 29, 2026, officers responded to Bridge Street in Loyalist Township after a vehicle was seen performing donuts. Police stopped the vehicle, and the driver failed an Approved Screening Device test.
A 27-year-old from Stone Mills Township was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80 mg, and stunt driving. Their licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded. The accused was released with a future court date.
On March 30, 2026, police were called to a multi-vehicle collision on County Road Two. Both drivers involved were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, the at-fault driver was arrested. A 27-year-old from Loyalist Township faces a list of charges, including Operation while impaired – alcohol, Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol, Dangerous Operation, Breach of Recognizance, Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver, Novice driver – BAC above zero, and Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor. The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
