A local online auction is aiming to make a big impact on children and youth across South East Ontario, including right here in Greater Napanee.
BGC South East has launched its annual fundraiser, with proceeds supporting sports, literacy and STEM programs that serve more than 6,000 local children and youth.
Director, Resource Development and Communications, Amanda Guarino explains more
Organizers say the funding helps provide safe spaces, mentorship and opportunities for young people to build confidence and develop important life skills.
Guarino says that this is their first year doing an online auction.
A portion of the funds will also go toward bringing local Olympian Jay Dearborn to speak to about 1,000 local high school students, offering motivation and real-life insight.
Guarino expresses gratitude towards those who donated the auction items.
While the auction features high-value items like a luxury getaway and a VIP radio experience with our sister station New Country 98.9, organizers say the real prize is community support.
The auction is open now and runs until March 25 through the BidRush platform, with 100% of the proceeds going to BGC South East.
