A former Napanee fire chief is now leading Kingston Fire & Rescue.
Kevin Donaldson has been appointed fire chief of Kingston Fire & Rescue, bringing more than three decades of experience in the fire service. City officials say Donaldson has spent nearly a decade with Kingston Fire & Rescue and most recently served as acting fire chief since the summer of 2025.
Before joining Kingston in 2017 as deputy chief, Donaldson served as fire chief in Napanee after being appointed to the role in 2015. He previously worked as deputy fire chief in Napanee and began his firefighting career in 1995 as a volunteer firefighter with the Stone Mills Township Fire Department.
City officials say Donaldson has played an important role in leading several divisions within Kingston Fire & Rescue and helping the service achieve national accreditation.
Mayor Bryan Paterson said he is pleased to see Donaldson take the role permanently and looks forward to his continued leadership supporting firefighters and protecting the community.
