Correctional Service Canada says an inmate has died while in custody at Bath Institution.
Cecil Gillis, 77, passed away on March 4, 2026. He had been serving an indeterminate sentence since June 2, 1989.
As required in all inmate deaths, CSC has notified the coroner and will review the circumstances surrounding his death.
“Further information about the cause of death is not available at this time,” CSC said in a statement.
