On March 4, 2026, the Tyendinaga Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Bayshore Road in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Officers stopped and checked about 40 vehicles during the initiative.
As a result, one female driver was arrested for impaired driving. She was taken to the Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police detachment, where breath samples were collected for analysis.
The driver has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80. She is scheduled to appear in Court in Belleville on April 16, 2026.
The Tyendinaga Police Service says programs like R.I.D.E. are part of ongoing efforts to keep roads safe and prevent impaired driving in the community.
