Heritage Week is set to shine a spotlight on Greater Napanee’s history with a public display aimed at connecting residents to the community’s roots.
Heritage Week runs from February 16 to 22, and this year’s main feature is a collection of 24 historical reproduction prints displayed in the main corridor at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital.
Councillor Bill Martin shared with myFM the display is about understanding where the community came from.
The prints feature historic buildings, landmarks, and early community figures from Napanee’s history.
The Heritage Committee worked closely with hospital staff to secure the high-traffic location. “It’s one of the busiest, probably, walking areas that you’re gonna find in the community,” Martin shared. “So I think it’s wonderful that we got that corridor to put them in.”
Martin added the committee is also focused on youth education.
The exhibit will remain up until April 10, allowing residents extra time to take it in.
