Today we celebrate VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY on 88.7 myFM…
Margaret Baldwin has spent decades giving back to the Greater Napanee community through volunteering with local organizations. She has been involved with Hospice Lennox & Addington for more than 20 years, chairing the board for many of those years.
“It is so wonderful to see how you can help in a little way,” Baldwin said. “Sometimes it’s a much bigger way if it’s a family in distress.” She also volunteers with the VON, serving dinners three times a month, and participates in church and environmental groups.
Baldwin credits her parents for inspiring her to volunteer. They played music for the community, and she grew up seeing them perform and help others.
She encourages others to get involved. “Take that first step and see.” She went on to say many organizations in the community would be thrilled to have new faces.
Her work shows how volunteering can bring fulfillment while helping those in need.
