It was a rare Wednesday night home game for the Napanee Raiders, playing a makeup game against the Thunder that was previously postponed due to inclement weather.
The Raiders started with a 1-0 lead in the first, thanks to a goal by Jobey Pearson, assisted by Matthew Airhart.
Second period saw three more goals for the Raiders to take a 4-0 lead. Those goals scored by Ryan McGee, assisted by Kaden Byne and Matthew Airhart; Mason Goodfellow, assisted by Kaden Byne and Jackson Barnes, and; Kaden Byne on the Power Play, assisted by Matthew Airhart and Jackson Barnes.
The Raiders solidified their shutout win in the third with four more goals. Those goals scored by Kaden Byne on the PP, assisted by Jackson Barnes and Jobey Pearson; Zered Haller, assisted by Luke Jarmin and Spencer Cranley; Cole McEwen on the PP, assisted by Reid Lambert, and; Tanner Hawkins with 5-seconds to go in the game, assisted by Eric Taher and Cole McEwen. Raiders win 8-0!
The Raiders had 60 shots on goal tonight.
Raiders goalie Denholm Blair made 22 saves on 22 shots on goals to earn the shutout.
The Napanee Raiders are in third place in the East Tod Division standings with a 24-12-2-0-1-1 record and 51 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, February 13th, when they host the Lakefield Chiefs at 7:30pm. On Sunday, February 15th the Raiders host the Panthers at 8pm. Then they finish their regular season Tuesday, February 17th, when they play the Thunder in Trent Hills at 7:30pm.
