Greater Napanee is making new investments in parks and recreation as part of its 2026 municipal budget. The town will revitalize the Alcorn-Francis Memorial Soccer Field using non-taxation revenue, including reserves, community benefit funds, and parkland-dedicated savings.
Construction of in-town trails, guided by recommendations from the Ad Hoc Committee on Trails, is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. The Best & Bash Arena will also see continued flooring remediation.
Mayor Terry Richardson said the initiatives were prioritized without impacting the tax levy. Funding comes from development charges, parkland dedication funds, general reserves, and provincial grants.
“These investments in our parks and recreation will benefit our community for many years to come,” Richardson said. The projects aim to enhance recreational opportunities and improve community amenities throughout Greater Napanee.
