CNOY Walk 2023
This winter has been especially cold in Greater Napanee. With lots of cold warnings and wind chills in the -30’s, it’s taking a tole on us all.
The Coldest Night of the Year walk is back for another year, to help raise funds to support people experiencing homelessness in our community.
myFM spoke with organizer Lynda Carney, who says the event will once again be based at Trinity United Church.
She shared with us their goal, with funds raise going to support the Morningstar Mission.
As of publication, they have so far raised over $36,000, have 105 walkers registered, and 27 teams taking part.
The money helps cover food, programs and building upkeep at the Mission, which continues to see growing demand.
Kevin Alkenbrack, Morningstar Mission Executive Director, says the event also helps people feel supported.
