The Rotary Club of Napanee is partnering with town staff to provide a covered space for Market Square. The structure will be built at the back of Town Hall, on the portion of the property off Centre Street, to shelter market vendors and support other community activities.
The project is part of the Rotary Club’s plans to celebrate its centennial in 2026. Stakeholders including the Market Square Advisory Committee, Heritage Committee, and L&A Chamber of Commerce will help develop a final design recommendation for council approval.
Rotary has committed $125,000 over five years to fund the project. Council approved authorizing the mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and a contribution agreement. The signed agreement will be added to a council agenda at the earliest opportunity, moving the project closer to reality.
