It was another weekend of season first goals for a pair of Napanee Raiders!
Friday night, the Napanee Raiders hosted the Picton Pirates for the final time in the regular season. The game opened with Jobey Pearson scoring his first ever PJHL goal for the Napanee Raiders, assisted by Jackson Barnes and Andrew Carr. With less than 30-seconds left in the first period, Napanee’s Spencer Cranley scored, assisted by Matthew Airhart and Trent Williams for a 2-0 lead.
The Pirates scored their first early in the second period, which was answered by the Raiders third, scored by Spencer Cranley, assisted by Luke Jarmin and Ryan Aldridge for a 3-1 lead.
Over half way into the third period, Jobey Pearson scored his second of the night, assisted by Ryan McGee and Jackson Barnes. Less than a minute later, Picton would score their second of the night. From there, two empty net goals secured the Napanee Raiders win, scored by Kaden Byne, assisted by Jackson Barnes, and a first goal of the season for Ethan Boutilier, assisted by Keenan Downey. Raiders win 6-2!
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 29 saves on 31 shots on goals.
Saturday night, the Raiders made their final trip to Frankford for the regular season. First period saw just one goal for Frankford taking a 1-0 lead. Frankford scored three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. A scoreless third period would lead to a 4-0 Frankford win.
Raiders goalie Denholm Blair made 34 saves on 38 shots on goals. Brown was briefly in the net as Blair dealt with an equipment issue, stopping all 3 shots he faced.
The Napanee Raiders are in third place in the East Tod Division standings with a 22-12-2-0-1-1 record and 47 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, February 6th, when they host the Port Hope Panthers at 7:30pm.
