The Napanee Raiders battled back late in both games this weekend but came up short.
Friday night at the Best and Bash Arena, the Raiders hosted the Frankford Huskies. The Huskies were up 2-0 at the end of the first, added a third in the second, then leapt to a 4-0 lead in the third. To end the period, Napanee scored twice. Those goals scored by Andrew Carr, assisted by Ryan McGee and Trent Williams, then Williams scored, assisted by Ethan Boutillier and Eric Taher. Frankford win 4-2.
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 28 saves on 32 shots on goals.
Sunday afternoon, the Raiders made their final trip of the regular season to Lakefield. The Chiefs were up 1-0 at the end of the first, then took a 3-0 lead in the second before the Raiders scored their first of the night. That goal scored by Trent Williams, assisted by Spencer Cranley and Jackson Barnes. Lakefield then scored once more about a minute later to take a 4-1 lead. A scoreless third period would lead to a 4-1 Lakefield win.
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 22 saves on 26 shots on goals.
The Napanee Raiders are tied with Frankford for second place in the East Tod Division standings with a 20-11-2-0-1-1 record and 43 points.
The Raiders are back in action Wednesday, January 21st when they host the Trent Hills Thunder at 8pm. On Friday, January 23rd they host the Amherstview Jets at 7:30pm. Then on Sunday, January 25th, the Raiders play the Thunder in Trent Hills at 4:30pm.
