Ontario Provincial Police in Lennox and Addington County have charged a Greater Napanee driver with impaired driving after a vehicle crashed into a patio early Saturday morning.
Police say officers were called to Dundas Street West shortly after 4 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2026, following reports of a possible impaired driver. When officers arrived, they found a single vehicle that had gone through a fence and into the patio of a home.
After an investigation at the scene, the driver was arrested. The accused is Clarence Smith, an 18-year-old from Greater Napanee.
Smith has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, and a novice driver charge for having alcohol in his system.
Smith was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on Jan. 27, 2026. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded.
