Loyalist Township has launched a new recycling depot at the Violet Landfill, as of Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The service replaces recycling drop-off options previously available at the Kingston Area Recycling Centre, following changes to provincial recycling regulations and the absence of long-term funding.
The depot is located at 1346 Violet Road, Odessa, and is open to Loyalist Township residents only. Hours of operation are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The facility is intended for bulk recycling items. Industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) recycling will not be accepted. All visitors must check in at the scale house and provide valid identification.
Residents with missed curbside recycling or other questions are asked to contact Emterra customer service at 1-888-597-1541 or customercareont@emterra.ca. More details are available on the Township’s website.
