A traffic stop for stunt driving on Highway 401 in Greater Napanee has led to impaired driving charges. Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police say officers were conducting speed enforcement Saturday, January 3, just before 10 p.m.
Police stopped an eastbound vehicle travelling 44 kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit. Following an investigation, the driver was arrested at the scene.
OPP say a 31-year-old man from Loyalist Township is facing multiple criminal and provincial charges, including impaired operation by alcohol, impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, stunt driving, and driving while under suspension.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 27, 2026. Police say the driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
