Greater Napanee Mayor Terry Richardson say 2025 was a strong year marked by growth, investment, and major projects that are already reshaping the community.
Mayor Richardson says residential, commercial, and industrial growth helped set the stage for a healthy future. “It’s been a very productive year,” he said.
Among the biggest highlights are two new long-term care homes set to open, adding 256 beds for residents and the surrounding area. A new waste management pre-conditioning facility is also opening, bringing new local jobs. Meanwhile, an expansion at the Goodyear plant is moving ahead, with new space expected to open in late 2026.
Housing construction is ramping up as well, with foundations going in at Springside Meadows. The goal is to have 25 homes built by May and another 25 by 2026.
Looking ahead, council plans to keep investing in infrastructure. “We want to keep the success rolling.”
He adds downtown revitalization, including work in Market Square, remains a priority.
Richardson confirmed he plans to seek re-election in 2026 and encouraged residents to stay engaged. “It’s going to be a fun year.”
