A December birthday can often mean double the presents in a short amount of time. So this year, River decided she wanted to help kids with hungry tummies.
She gathered her birthday money, and with some help from mom, bought around $200 worth of groceries to donate to the Morningstar Mission!
River is now being recognized for her generosity. River stopped by MPP Ric Bresee’s office to receive a Holiday Spirit award. Her certificate reads, “even the smallest helpers can make the biggest impact.”
This is not River’s first act of kindness. Previously, she has donated toys to Christmas toy drives. Her family hopes to continue these giving traditions in the future, teaching her the importance of giving back and doing good in the community.
River wants to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
