A local volunteer group known as the Knitting Elves is marking its ninth Christmas season by helping families in need stay warm and feel remembered during the holidays.
myFM spoke with Brenda Mayhew, who says the group donates hand-knitted and crocheted items.
Extra winter items are also shared with up to three local schools, depending on donations.
The group also sells donated yarn and handmade crafts.
Mayhew says the goal is to make sure everyone receives something at Christmas, especially adults who are often overlooked.
The Knitting Elves are currently welcoming yarn donations and new members.
The group meets once a year at Newburgh Hall and continues its work year-round.
