Habitat for Humanity Kingston Limestone Region is preparing to open a new ReStore in Greater Napanee this spring, offering residents a new way to support affordable housing in their own community.
myFM spoke with manager Thomas DeHaan, who says while the store is a fundraising mechanism for their home building projects, it’s also a social entity.
All money raised stays in the local area and helps fund Habitat’s affordable home-building projects.
Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up now through the Kingston Limestone Region Habitat for Humanity website. There are opportunities both in store and on a future build.
The organization receives the keys to the building on January 1 and plans to open the store on April 1 at 450 Centre Street, in the plaza next to the dollar store. Staff say the ReStore will be fully stocked and ready for a grand opening celebration in April.
