It was a fun Friday night at the Best and Bash Arena when the Napanee Raiders hosted the Frankford Huskies, and broke their 9-game winning streak.
It was an exciting start to the game for the Raiders, with Mason Goodfellow scoring back-to-back goals 15 seconds apart! The first goal assisted by Jobey Pearson and Trent Williams on the power play, and the second assisted by Luke Jarmin and Cole Campbell. On to the second period, where Andrew Carr would score the Raiders third of the night, assisted by Mason Goodfellow. From here the Huskies would change up goalies and score three of their own to tie the game. The Raiders would strike first in the third period to break the tie and win the game! Ryan McGee with the goal, assisted by Andrew Carr. Raiders win 4-3!
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 32 saves on 35 shots on goals.
Saturday night the Raiders traveled through the snow to Amherstview to play the Jets. The Raiders were up 1-0 in the first, thanks to a goal by Ryan McGee, assisted by Mason Goodfellow. A scoreless second period would take us to the third, where the Jets scored four unanswered goals, including one on the empty net, for a 4-1 Jets win.
Raiders goalie Denholm Blair made 27 saves on 30 shots on goals.
The Napanee Raiders are tied with Picton for fourth place in the East Tod Division standings with a 13-9-2 record and 28 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, December 12th when they’ll host the Jets for their Teddy Bear Toss Game. Puck drop at 7:30pm. Then on Sunday, December 14th, the Raiders are on the road against the Trent Hills Thunder at 4:30pm.
