The Deseronto Community Recreation Centre (DCRC) is preparing a time capsule to be opened in 2075, marking the facility’s 100th anniversary. The capsule will highlight fundraising, construction, and key milestones from 1974/75 to 2025.
Current items include newspaper clippings and reports in both digital and paper formats, a 1975 skate-a-thon hockey jersey, and a puck from the October 18, 2025, ceremonial drop by Mayor Dan Johnston.
The DCRC is inviting community members to contribute pictures or memorabilia from the last 25 years. Contributions could include special events, visits from international teams, successful former players, or personal memories connected to the centre.
Those interested can email jzieman@deseronto.ca or speak with Ron at the community centre. The submission deadline is December 1, 2025.
