The Napanee Raiders were on the Road tonight for a Thursday night in the County, playing game one of a home and home with the Picton Pirates.
After a scoreless first period, Picton scored first early in the second period to take a 1-0 lead. The Pirates scored once more in the second period to take a 2-0 lead. The Raiders avoided the shutout with a Power Play with 37 seconds left in the game. That Raiders goal scored by Ryan McGee, assisted by Trent Williams. Then with only 1-second left on the clock, Picton scored on the empty net for a 3-1 Pirates win.
Raiders goalie Denholm Blair made 30 saves on 32 shots on goals.
The Napanee Raiders are in fifth place in the East Tod Division standings with a 10-8-2 record and 22 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, November 21st when they’ll then host Picton for the second half of their home and home series. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
