A 22-year-old driver from Ottawa is facing several impaired-related charges after Lennox and Addington County OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 late Monday night.
Police say the incident began just before 11 p.m. on November 17, 2025, when officers were told about a possible impaired driver heading westbound on the highway through Kingston. Officers located the vehicle a short time later on Highway 401 in Tyendinaga Township and began an investigation.
OPP say the driver, identified as Gemma Deal, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by drugs. She also faces charges for having cannabis readily available, speeding, and possessing an illegal licence.
The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on December 16, 2025. Police say her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
